We’re throwing down the gauntlet.
(Don’t worry, it’s biodegradable).

Welcome to Hondo Green’s first annual Big Footprint Challenge.

The premise behind the Big Footprint Challenge is simple. We are challenging our friends in the Austin creative community to see who can reduce their environmental impact the most in one year’s time: from Earth Day 2010 to Earth Day 2011. Comparisons will be based on the five key metrics associated with sustainable business practices: travel, water, waste, materials and energy.

To make sure we have an “apples-to-apples” comparison of who’s doing what, we are offering complimentary access to our unique web-based management tool. The Hondo Green Assessment Tool is an incredibly powerful, surprisingly easy web-based application designed to help companies like yours reduce the environmental impact of day-to-day business.

The Hondo Green Assessment Tool will not only help you determine what your current environmental footprint is, but will recommend initiatives to reduce resource usage. Ultimately bringing environmental impact down, while bringing cost savings up. Yes, going green is as good for the environment as it is for your bottom line.

To get the ball rolling, here’s one simple tip. Whether you choose to participate in the Challenge or not, this small change stands to make a big difference, if we all band together and stick to it.

Registration for the Big Footprint Challenge is now open, but closes on March 18, 2010. We will announce the full list of participants to the media and general public on March 22. PR efforts are already underway and will continue throughout, ensuring this effort to change the way Austin thinks about doing business stays in the public eye.

At the end of the Challenge on Earth Day 2011, we’ll ask you to report your final results. After that, the winner of the first-ever Big Footprint Challenge will be announced at a media event designed to celebrate and publicize the collective difference we’ve all made, calling attention to the Austin creative community’s efforts to make Austin a greener place.

Go to our Registration page to sign up for the Big Footprint Challenge and express your agency’s commitment to a more sustainable future. Or email us with any questions or concerns you may have.

We look forward to your participation.
